Dr. Abdel Moneim Said serves as Chairman of the Board of NAWA, bringing decades of leadership across academic, research, parliamentary, and media institutions. He is regarded as one of Egypt’s leading political thinkers, with extensive contributions to regional security, political systems, and Arab-international relations.

He earned his BA in Political Science from Cairo University and his MA and PhD from Northern Illinois University in the United States. His academic trajectory includes senior research fellowships at the Brookings Institution and Harvard University’s Belfer Center, and long-standing affiliation as Senior Fellow at the Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University.

Dr. Said previously led the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, served as Chairman and CEO of Al-Ahram Publishing House, chaired Al Masry Al Youm Publishing House, and held membership in Egypt’s Senate. He also founded the Gulf Arab States Institute in Washington and co-founded the Arab Reform Initiative.

His scholarly work spans political development, Arab regional systems, European integration, the Arab-Israeli conflict, national security, and arms control. He has authored and co-authored numerous books in Arabic and English and remains an active public commentator in regional and international media.

At NAWA, Dr. Said provides strategic oversight, intellectual direction, and institutional guidance, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to rigorous analysis, informed dialogue, and policy relevance across complex regional transformations.

At Nawa, we see the post-conflict phase not as the end of a crisis, but as the beginning of a new developmental path.
