Strategic Support Group

Providing strategic guidance and tailored support to enhance institutional

performance, policy design, and decision-making processes.

Role and Focus

The Strategic Support Group constitutes Nawa’s institutional, communication, and convening backbone. It enables Nawa’s analytical and programmatic work to translate into influence, dialogue, and sustained partnerships, while ensuring operational integrity, accountability, and learning.

The group integrates strategic communication, convening platforms, institutional systems, and partnerships to support Nawa’s role as a space for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, and post-conflict engagement.

Insights

The group produces applied institutional and communication-related insights that support Nawa’s effectiveness and public role, including:

  • Communication and media strategies that shape institutional narrative and public positioning.
  • Knowledge products related to public influence, strategic messaging, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Learning outputs drawn from conferences, dialogues, and multi-stakeholder engagements.
  • Internal policy guidelines and frameworks related to governance, communication, and institutional practice.

These insights support both Nawa’s internal learning and its external engagement with decision-makers and partners.

Projects

The Strategic Support Group leads and supports a range of enabling projects, including:

  • Organization of conferences, seminars, and workshops designed to foster high-level dialogue, intellectual exchange, and policy influence.

  • Development and implementation of integrated communication initiatives, including media campaigns, digital platforms, and community-based outreach.

  • Institutional capacity-building initiatives in communication, media engagement, and public influence for partners and stakeholders.

  • Establishment and management of operational systems, including finance, procurement, human resources, and logistics.

  • Design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks to support evidence-based decision-making and accountability.

These projects ensure that Nawa’s work is visible, credible, and operationally sound.

Engagements

The group engages with a wide range of actors through:

  • Strategic convening and facilitation of policy dialogues, expert roundtables, and public and closed-door conferences.

  • Media and public engagement, including interaction with journalists, opinion leaders, and digital audiences.

  • Institutional partnerships and donor engagement, supporting resource mobilization and long-term collaboration.

  • Crisis communication and reputation management, particularly in sensitive or high-risk contexts.

Through these engagements, the Strategic Support Group strengthens Nawa’s convening power, institutional presence, and partnerships across national, regional, and international levels.

At Nawa, we see the post-conflict phase not as the end of a crisis, but as the beginning of a new developmental path.
