Dr. Tawfik Aclimandos serves as Senior Associate Advisor at NAWA, contributing deep expertise in political history, European affairs, and strategic analysis. His work spans both academic research and applied policy engagement across Egyptian and European political contexts.

He holds a French State Doctorate (Doctorat d’État) in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris. He has served as a researcher at the French Center for Documentation and Legal and Social Studies (CEDEJ) and at the Collège de France within the Department of Contemporary Arab History. He was also a visiting professor at Paris–Sorbonne University.

Dr. Aclimandos previously led the European Studies Unit at the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies (ECSS) and taught at Cairo University’s Faculty of Economics and Political Science as well as the Université Française d’Égypte. His scholarship includes extensive work on Egyptian political history, civil society, the Free Officers movement, political Islam, and state formation, alongside analysis of European foreign, defense, and security policies with particular focus on France, Russia, and Ukraine.

He has translated and authored numerous academic works and regularly contributes analytical commentary on regional and global strategic developments.

At NAWA, Dr. Aclimandos provides historical depth and comparative perspective to research initiatives, strengthening analytical rigor in the study of political transformation and international power shifts.
