This rare 1910s Nestor Gianaclis “Royal” hinged 100 cigarette tin, measuring 3” x 7” x 2”, is in very good condition with no rust, one small crease and some very minor age related paint scratches and chips. The hinge is in excellent working order. This highly attractive, multicolored tin features an image of an Egyptian man and woman outside of a tent who are dressed in traditional garb. The woman is selling cigarettes to the man who is on horseback. In the background is a seaside city with a mosque. The cigarettes were manufactured by the Nestor Gianaclis Company, Cairo, Egypt and Brussels, Belgium. On the bottom of the tin is a detailed black and white picture of the company’s factory which was housed in a former Ottoman palace.
